The Working Group on Subnational Integration (SNIWG) and the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate’s New Climate Economy (NCE) will host a webinar to discuss the cities component of the ground breaking NCE Report “Better Growth, Better Climate: The New Climate Economy Report.”

The choice in the design and performance of the new urban world will define the success or failure of the global path to low-emission, climate-resilient development. The Global Commission on the Economy and Climate’s Better Growth, Better Climate report shows that building more productive cities through transformative shifts towards more compact, connected, and coordinated development can create cities which are more competitive, inclusive, resilient, cleaner, quieter, safer, and most importantly lower carbon. This approach could reduce urban infrastructure capital requirements by more than US$3 trillion over the next 15 years. And the good news is that we also know how. The key is to now scale up this action.
