Conference "Opportunities and Ambition: Transatlantic perspectives on current climate and energy policies"

Tuesday, 21 April 2015
Add to Calendar

This conference will offer to participants the opportunity to engage conversation on the economic impacts of climate action and on ways the US and Germany are overcoming challenges. The question of how they can further reform their electricity markets and other sectors to reach and exceed long-term renewables and climate targets will also be of interest.

Germany and the United States are demonstrating that curbing carbon emissions and driving economic growth is not only possible, but is already underway. Though their efforts to address climate change leave room to go farther, both countries have earned a track record of reaping economic and other rewards from dramatically ramping up renewables, increasing the efficiency of vehicles and fossil fuel power plants and achieving significant carbon reductions.
