Green jobs for social inclusion

July 2015

Eurocities published a new report "Green jobs for social inclusion" which gathers green job initiatives to support the employment of vulnerable groups.

The report gives 13 examples of green jobs in european cities: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona, Berlin, Newcastle, Oslo, Gothenburg, Birmingham, Brussels, Glasgow, Rennes, Tampere and Zagreb.

These initiatives seek to provide access to employment for vulnerable people such as people with disabilities, over 50s, young people not in education or training (NEETS) and long term unemployed.

They include for example jobs in the energy sector, circular economy or waste managment. These jobs respond to the local demand while aiming to limit their impact on the environment and act on the field of social inclusion.
